Rigid urethane

A molding method that allows for low-cost and small-lot molding! We will shape your needs into form.

We would like to introduce the rigid urethane that our company handles. It is a polymer (plastic) generated by mixing and reacting two main raw materials (polyol/isocyanate). By changing the formulation and molding methods, it is a resin that is widely used in soft, semi-rigid, and rigid forms (foamed to non-foamed). 【Features】 ■ Generated by mixing and reacting polyol/isocyanate ■ Widely used in soft, semi-rigid, and rigid forms (foamed to non-foamed) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Rigid urethane <dimensions>

In molding with silicone rubber molds, a dimensional tolerance of ±1.0mm is required for dimensions up to 50mm!

Here is an introduction to the dimensions of "hard polyurethane." For molding with silicone rubber molds, the dimensional tolerances required are as follows: ±1.0mm for up to 50mm, ±1.5mm for 51 to 200mm, ±2.5mm for 201 to 600mm, and ±3.0mm or more for 601 to 1000mm. Please feel free to contact us if you have any requests. 【Required Dimensional Tolerances】 ■ Up to 50mm: ±1.0mm ■ 51 to 200mm: ±1.5mm ■ 201 to 600mm: ±2.5mm ■ 601 to 1000mm: ±3.0mm or more *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Rigid urethane <Advantages>

You can freely design with a focus on product functionality and design, as well as omit processing!

Here are the advantages of rigid urethane. We can accommodate small production runs (approximately 50 pieces per lot). Since the model is made using wooden molds, we can achieve short lead times. Additionally, for design changes or modifications in shape, we can make adjustments to the wooden mold, allowing for quick turnaround. Furthermore, the more complex the shape, the greater the economic benefits, and we can produce molded items such as thick or uneven products. 【Advantages】 ■ Quantity: Capable of small production runs (approximately 50 pieces per lot) ■ Model: Short lead times due to production using wooden molds ■ Shape: More complex shapes provide greater economic benefits ■ Design: Freedom in design focusing on product functionality, aesthetics, and process simplification ■ Surface treatment: Surface treatment through painting is possible *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Rigid urethane <Why is the mold cost low?>

Mass production molding with silicone rubber molds! Amortization based on product costs depending on the production lot.

Rigid polyurethane does not use molds for shaping. First, a master model (the product to be made) is created using a wooden model or similar, which is then used to make a silicone rubber mold, and mass production is carried out using that silicone rubber mold. Therefore, the costs for molds only require the initial expenses for creating the master model and the costs for producing the mold frame to make the silicone rubber mold. [Reasons for Low Mold Costs] ■ Only the initial costs for producing the mold frame are required ■ The silicone rubber mold costs are consumables, so they are amortized through the product cost based on the production lot *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Rigid urethane <materials and coating treatment>

The materials are broadly classified into two types! Krill lacquer coating and acrylic urethane coating are standard.

We will introduce the materials and painting processes for rigid polyurethane. The materials can be broadly classified into two types: foamed molding with a specific gravity of approximately 0.2 to 0.3, and non-foamed molding with a specific gravity of approximately 1.1. For painting processes, acrylic lacquer painting and acrylic urethane painting are standard. Please confirm during the design phase, especially if weather resistance and chemical resistance are required. 【Materials】 ■ Foamed molding: Specific gravity of approximately 0.2 to 0.3 ■ Non-foamed molding: Specific gravity of approximately 1.1 *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Floor coating for food factories - water-based hard urethane

Water-based hard urethane is a paint that excels in "cold and heat resistance" and "chemical resistance." It is ideal for the floors of food factories that frequently use hot water and disinfectants.

Water-based hard urethane is ideal for food factories, kitchens, and floors that undergo freezing, refrigeration, hot water cleaning, and steam cleaning. It is resistant to oil and water, and can withstand temperatures up to 120°C. Being water-based, it has no odor during application. Please feel free to consult us for work that can be done only at night when the line is stopped or for short-duration projects!

Rigid urethane <Regarding thickness>

We will introduce the necessary wall thickness for producing sound molded products!

Here is an introduction to the thickness of rigid polyurethane. Compared to other general-purpose plastic materials, molded products made from rigid polyurethane have lower impact strength. Therefore, to produce sound molded products, an average thickness of 10mm or more is required for foamed molding, with a minimum thickness of 4mm in certain areas. For non-foamed molding, an average thickness of 6mm or more is required, with a minimum thickness of 2mm in certain areas. 【Required Thickness】 ■ Foamed Molding - Average Thickness: 10mm or more - Minimum Thickness in Certain Areas: 4mm ■ Non-Foamed Molding - Average Thickness: 6mm or more - Minimum Thickness in Certain Areas: 2mm *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
